■はじめに Introduction

なかよしの二人、リトル・ブルー（あおくん）とリトル・イエロー（きいろちゃん）。抱きあって抱きあって、グリーンになる。そのあとには、拒絶される悲しみと、涙と、再生と、再会の物語が展開する。わずか３２ページのなかに。

このすてきな本を紹介してくれたＡちゃん、ありがとう。

■レオ・レオーニ (1910-1999)

作者レオ・レオーニ（レオ・レオニ）はオランダ生まれ。画家・作家・絵本作家・イラストレーター・広告ディレクターとして、おもにイタリアとアメリカで活躍した。『あおくんときいろちゃん』は彼の絵本作家としてのデビュー作。1959年に原書 Little Blue and Little Yellow の初版が出て以来、世界的ロングセラーとなっている。

2009年はレオーニにとって節目の年にあたるともいえる。没後１０年。そして、Little Blue and Little Yellow の出版５０周年。
