■はじめに Introduction

『モリス・レスモアとふしぎな空とぶ本』は、2011年に公開された15分間の短編アニメ映画。アメリカの作家・イラストレーター・映像作家ウィリアム・ジョイスが脚本を書き、彼とブランドン・オールデンバーグの二人が監督を務めた。映画は第84回アカデミー賞短編アニメーション賞と、いくつかの映画祭の賞を受賞した。日本では劇場未公開だが、WOWOWで放映されたことがある。

翌2012年にはジョイスがこれを絵本化して、映画とおなじ題名で出版した。下にご覧のとおり、絵本は多数の言語に翻訳された。また、アップルからiPad公式アプリも発売されている（Morris Lessmore 公式サイトもご参照ください）。
